Borat: Nudity

Nudity in this movie isn't too crazy, however there are some scenes i would definitely do away with if we are going to rate this move as a PG-13. First, the entire hotel scene has a lot of nudity in it that doesn't really seem necessary. It starts off when his producer, Azamat, is masturbating to Pamela Anderson's picture and Borat takes offense to that. The two end up naked before they engage in a full on brawl. When they fight, they are engaging in sexual positions, however are not actually doing the deed. In the Pg-13 guidelines, "If nudity is sexually oriented, the film will generally not be found in the PG-13 category. " Due to the sexual positions and the extended amount of time the two men are naked, i would recommend that this scene be removed from the film altogether.

Another part that i didn't think was appropriate is when Borat shows the picture of his son and him, where his son is naked. His face is directly next to his penis, with the thumbs up. Although it is very funny when he shows an etiquette coach, but is not appropriate as the age of the boy is still young and can be considered child pornography.

  1. Nadia,

I would agree with your thoughts on both of those issues in the movie. I think removing of those two parts would definitely put it closer to the PG-13 rating.

  3. I agree to remove the part of the movie with the picture of his son. Yes it is funny, but not good for a PG-13 rated movie. I feel like though a few changes to the hotel scene could make that one Ok for a PG-13 movie. LIke dont actually show the Producer masterbating to the picture, they could just incinuate it. They really dont need to be naked they could just be in there underwear, which I have seen alot in PG-13 movie. Which would take care of all the nudity in that scene. It is something that we could take in more consideration and discuss more as a group.

  4. In order to make this a pg-13 film I think all the nudity needs to be taken out. I guess I don't see the point for the huge chase either, like that could all be taken out of the film because there really isn't much of a point there.
